IT Technician

Naples, FL

NCA is seeking an experienced and motivated IT Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing onsite troubleshooting, technical support, and employee training for a diverse range of systems, including computers, servers, firewalls, networks, and cloud services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT support, excellent problem-solving skills, and a supportive approach. This is a full time in person position.  IT Tech will perform support work in the technology area of the organization. He or she works to ensure that technology resources are utilized effectively. Offer support and technical assistance to staff who are using software, hardware, or other technology systems and need help completing tasks or troubleshooting problems through diagnostic tests and (occasionally) remote access to their computers. 

Minimum Requirements

Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with current Microsoft Windows operating systems, including server and desktop platforms. Thorough knowledge of PC hardware diagnosis , troubleshooting, and repair practices with extensive hands-on experience. Thorough understanding of networking concepts including but not limited to Ethernet, TCP/IP, Microsoft Windows, Active Directory, a Microsoft MCSE, Employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 100 pounds.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintaining and upgrading the school's computer hardware, software, and network components.

  • Troubleshooting of hardware/software problems. If it is not possible to fix, contact the appropriate repair vendor.

  • Support internet use with the staff and provide support for website and internet

  • Support staff to enhance their use of computers. Train staff to improve software/hardware utilization.

  • Maintain equipment inventory.

  • Maintain flow charts, equipment layouts, schematics, and manuals for all

  • Maintain technical competency through industry peer groups, conferences, and periodical resources.

  • Support technical and media systems and other duties as directed.

  • Maintain compliance with assigned budgets and expense allocations.

  • Assist in the adherence of branding and marketing guidelines.

  • Maintain a cooperative spirit by assisting others when needed or requested.

  • Communicate effectively with leaders, peers, and administration.

  • Demonstrate stewardship of school resources including supplies, equipment, and intellectual property.

  • Understand and adhere to procedural guidelines and policies.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

  • Assisting staff members in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems.  

  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging, etc.).  

  • Run diagnostics to resolve technology-related issues.  

  • Escalate issues with the next level of difficulty. 

  • Install, make changes, and repair technology hardware and software.

  • Follow-up with team members to ensure issues are resolved.   

  • Running reports to analyze common complaints and problems.  

  • Supports the inventory of technology equipment.  

  • Knowledge of diverse computer systems and networks.  

  • Knowledge of technology security and data privacy application.  

  • Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers, etc.)  

  • Check computer hardware (HDD, mouse, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality.  

  • Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.  

  • Maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.  

  • Support upgrades and maintenance.  

  • Maintain records/logs of repairs, fixes and maintenance schedule.  

  • Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED)

  • Four-year degree in a related technical/computer area or equivalent experience.

  • 3 - 5 years of networking experience.

  • Ability and knowledge to understand and solve problems.

  • Must be able to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills.

  • Occasionally, may require availability beyond typical school workdays (M-F 7:30 AM-4:00 PM) to provide support for events requiring IT assistance and participation (ie: concerts, graduation, meeting, training, etc) and troubleshooting outside of school hours (including remote assistance.)

  • Positive team player with commitment to quality.

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask. Must have knowledge of spreadsheet and word processing software.  

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation, preferred.  

  • Network support experience, preferred.  

  • Three years broad, varied and increasingly responsible experience with computer information systems, and organizational procedures

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic computer technical issues 

  • Ability to demonstrate, uphold, and promote in daily interactions a commitment to the mission, vision, moral character and civic virtue.
