SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST

Naples Classical Academy is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech and language therapy services to students across all grade levels. The SLP will collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student success and help foster a safe, secure, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

This is a part-time, hourly, exempt position with a schedule of up to 3 days (flexible), 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., for a approx. 24 hours per week total.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in grades K–12.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments using appropriate evaluation tools, including standardized assessments, clinical observations, and medical and educational records, to determine students’ speech and language needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  • Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with the ESE Coordinator (ESEC), including coordinating IEP meetings, communicating with parents and the school district, and managing an assigned caseload.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, support staff, families, and the ESEC to support students’ academic, communication, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
  • Participate in the Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Supports (RTI/MTSS) process by conducting screenings, attending meetings, consulting with teachers and administrators, and providing recommendations for appropriate interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical and administrative records in accordance with Florida Department of Education and Department of Health requirements, school policies, and professional standards. Documentation may include screenings, evaluations, IEPs, progress reports, treatment records, and other student data.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust therapy services and intervention plans as appropriate.
  • Provide emotional and behavioral support to students as needed and in collaboration with the appropriate school personnel.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student success plans and multidisciplinary decision-making.
  • Maintain a professional development plan and participate in ongoing professional learning activities to remain current with best practices in speech-language pathology and education.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current Florida Department of Health licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with K–12 students with diverse learning and communication needs.
  • Proficiency with technology, student information systems/databases, and Google Workspace applications, including Gmail and Google Drive.
  • Ability to successfully complete required fingerprinting and background-check requirements within specified timeframes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous school-based Speech-Language Pathology experience.
  • Experience working with students in a K–12 educational setting.
  • Familiarity with classical education is preferred but not required.
